The special designed internal water tank, can take up to 4.000 liters of water or solvent mixture. The hover refill system can be used by water depths as shallow as 50 cm and will refill the tank in less than 50 seconds, therefore almost any water source can be used. The biggest advantage of the system is the higher drop frequency due to short runs to the water source. Using turn- around times of about 5 minutes per rotation there could be as much as 50.000 l delivered per hour. Compared to fixed wing aircraft who will most of the time deliver saltwater from the sea, the MI 14 helicopter, will use fresh water. This will prevent damage the sensitive eco- logical system of the forest or land area. It gives the environment a better and faster chance of recovery.
